2003 marked the first year of Canstar Restorations' signature customer appreciation event. Our Lobsterfest event is designed to provide a yearly opportunity for every member of our staff, as a partnered team of professionals, to thank our clients for their continuing support.

Every member of our team plays a part in our success and every member of our team plays a part in celebrating that success with our clients at Lobsterfest. Canstar Restorations' Head Office warehouse in Port Coquitlam is transformed into an authentic Cape Breton Boardwalk for the event.

Division managers arrange scheduling to allow for ample help during set up. Early that morning, Kevin, our resident painter/drywaller and Chef Extraordinaire! goes to work preparing the feast. The beef sirloins go into the ovens, the beer can chickens are marinated and are ready for the barbeque! Fresh, sweet butter is stacked pound by pund into slow cookers to melt for dipping! As the decorations go up, the fresh, live lobsters arrive from back east by the pallet!

By late moring, eveyone is looking forward to burgers and smokies compliments of Jay and Wendy. The team's excitment builds as everyone shares Lobsterfest stories. New team members try to visualize what the evening will hold while I take photos of teamwork in action!

Tents go up outside, tables and chairs are lined up for the feast, and before long, the sounds of smells of the East Coast fill the warehouse!

As the guests arrive, staff are trickling in from the field and getting changed for the evening. Sandy opens the "Crab Shack Bar" offering ice cold beer and pop, chilled wines and more tales of Lobsterfests past! Soon the line forms 'round the mountains of salads and buns, turning right at the roast sirloins of beef and 'barbequed to perfection' beer can chicken, heading straight past the hot melted butter to where Kevin and his helpers serve up the much anticipated fresh Atlantic Lobsters!

Andrew plays his guitar, while satisfied guests relax over coffee, desert and good conversation! Laughter, smiles, camera flashes and fun fill the air! More Lobsterfest memories to be savoured! With new clients and staff joining us so often, next year's Lobsterfest is sure to be even more fun!
