CANSTAR RESTORATIONS

PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM

JAY DARGATZ

President / Project Manager

  • Jay began with new construction and renovations in 1985 and moved toward full service restoration in response to the growing demand for quality contractors in the lower mainland of BC.  Leading by example, Jay sets a tone of respectful, ‘open door’ communication in the office, yet never hesitates to be part of the fun side of the unique Canstar Restorations culture.  The constant stream of staff successfully completing certification and support training present strong evidence that people are Canstar Restorations’ most important asset.

Chris Macievich

  • Chris brings over 12 years of restoration industry experience to Canstar. Previous project management experience and attention to detail are two valuable assets that Chris draws from daily while meeting the responsibilities of his position. Having attained his IICRC Master Water Restorer certification and with over 22 years of experience in the construction field, Chris welcomes new information. He anticipates many exciting challenges ahead while working out of Canstar Restorations new Whistler Branch Office. Chris owes his success in his previous role as HazMat Division Manager and his desire to being part of Canstar’s continuing growth to the ‘fantastic surroundings and people’ he works with each day at Canstar. Chris enjoys spending quality time with his family and building competitive remote control cars, trucks, helicopters and planes.

Frank Chung

  • Frank spent over fifteen years running his property development business before moving into the restoration industry. He believes that quality end results are products of patience and excellent customer service. Among Frank’s reasons for joining Canstar Restorations is his goal to take pride in achieving his personal objectives while being part of a successful team.

Greg Chiasson

  • Greg enjoys working with people and this translates well to the job of project management.  Greg attributes much of his success to the team.  He continuously earns high scores on customer surveys and continues to create cheerleaders.  With a history spanning over 20 years in general carpentry, Greg has ‘learned by doing’.  His extensive experience in general renovation and installation allows him to form a comprehensive overview of each project.  In his leisure time, Greg enjoys playing center position on his ice hockey team and doing improvements to his own home.

Jason Ross

  • Jason moved to project management after nearly 10 years as a water damage technician.  Running the emergency water loss portion of large losses laid the groundwork for Jason to continue to work toward his goal of project management.  Jason credits his success to the solid training he receives from our senior project managers and to the accuracy of his assistant.  His sense of duty to the team was evident from the beginning of his career at Canstar.  Jason always made sure that everyone in the flood division had the support of the team during an emergency call-out and they were ‘all able to go home at the same time’.

Jeff Morrison

  • Jeff brings many talents to the Canstar Restorations team.  He is a Millwright (industrial / commercial mechanic) and has worked in HVAC sales, as a contract administrator and as a general contractor in residential construction.  Jeff came to Canstar because of the owners’ and staff’s commitment to team and customer satisfaction.  He enjoys playing golf and hockey, as well as spending time with family.

Jim Sigouin

  • Jim joined the Canstar Restorations team bringing with him over twenty years of construction and six years of project management experience.  His expertise and ability to manage a high number of projects enables Jim to meet his clients’ needs while creating cheerleaders.

Pete Hoefsloot

  • Pete joins the Canstar Restorations team after enjoying a twenty-year career with a glass company, including the last six years as manager of a shop specializing in residential and commercial glazing.  Pete’s status as a Journeyman Glazier and Journeyman Auto glass Technician compliment his management experience and customer service skills.  He is enjoying the new challenges of the restoration industry including honing his expertise in the industry specific software programs Xactimate and Symbility.  Pete sees his strong work ethic and positive attitude as a fit with the culture at Canstar Restorations.  Fun for Pete includes family camping trips, four wheeling and horseback riding.

Rob Alain

  • Prior to joining the Canstar Restorations team, Rob ran his own construction company focusing on renovations and general carpentry.  Rob’s proficiency with industry specific software programs such as Xactimate and Symbility allow him to specialize in providing detailed scopes.  Rob provides support and training in the specialized programs to ensure continuity for the project management team.

Robert Mah

  • Robert brings diverse talents to the Canstar Restorations team.  His 5 years of experience in electronics restoration allows him to move easily through quotations for replacement or restoration of the electronics component of a loss.  With a strong background in customer service and key account management learned during his 15 years in the clothing industry, Robert feels very strongly that if a company looks after the front line people, success follows. Robert and his assistant enjoy many positive comments from their clients.

kyle sigouin

  • Kyle brings nearly ten years of industry related experience to his role along with a commitment to positive communication. Kyle feels good communication combined with a willingness to hear all parties’ concerns will enable him to successfully complete each job while creating cheerleaders for the Canstar team.

Technical Assistants

Chris Tilkov

  • Chris moved into this new role recently after years as a member of our Water Damage Division. His experience in the field combined with his aptitude for the industry specific estimating programs enabled Chris to transition quickly into this support position.

Dale Dargatz

  • Specializing in the industry specific software programs Xactimate and Symbility, Dale supports the project management team by providing timely and detailed scopes of work.  Always a team player, Dale quickly responds to the many challenges presented by a broad range of situations presented by the various jobs and works closely with the project management team to ensure good communication.
